Let’s clear
a few things up.
Do I need to replace my LLC to become an S corp?
An eligible LLC can generally elect S corporation tax treatment while keeping its LLC legal structure. The legal entity and tax classification are separate questions. See how it works ↗
How much profit makes an S election worth it?
There is no universal cutoff. Reasonable owner pay, added administration costs, state taxes, and the full income-tax picture matter. Use the calculator for an illustration, then review the decision with an adviser.
Can I pay myself only through distributions?
An owner who provides services generally needs reasonable wages before nonwage distributions. A fixed salary percentage does not substitute for a compensation analysis. Explore owner pay ↗
What should I bring to an initial conversation?
A description of your business, current entity type, ownership, approximate profit, payroll arrangement, and your main questions are a useful starting point. Please do not send returns or sensitive identifiers through the inquiry form.
